Cimafunk to Headline Silver Spring Jazz Festival
Cimafunk has been named headliner of the 2026 Silver Spring Jazz Festival, a free outdoor day of music in Maryland.
The Grammy-nominated Cuban artist will play with his eight-piece band La Tribu. Montgomery County's announcement describes a sound that mixes Afro-Caribbean and Cuban rhythms with funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz and R&B. That list is close to our own playlist, which may be why he fits so easily on a bill built around jazz.
The festival is sponsored by the county government. It combines international acts with local musicians, and it takes place in the Silver Spring Arts and Entertainment District. Entry is free, so the audience is likely to be broad. Cimafunk's live shows are built around a band that pushes the crowd toward the dance floor, and that suits an open-air plaza.
This is a single festival date, not a tour announcement. Still, it is a clear sign of where he is booked this year.
When/where: Saturday, 12 September 2026, from noon, Veterans Plaza, Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Free.
